Why Dreaded Romance?

Our braid in extexsions are not your average "dreadlocks".  

Many dreadlock extensions on the market are heavy, stiff, and or made with toxic fibers that have chemical coatings, which many people can actually be allergic to, causing discomfort for long time wear.

Our loc's are made with a very special technique that allows for ample volume, without the weight of traditional 'Twist and seal' or 'crochet' loc extensions.

our fibers are made from high quality, non- chemically coated PET fibers. They are heat resistant, and recyclable- which means not only are they safer for you, and your hair, but they are safer for the environment as well.

Here at Dreaded Romance, Our standard locs usually weigh between 6 - 6.5grams a dread. or roughly .2 to .25 of an ounce. 
that means most fullsets are typically around 290 -390 grams (10-14oz) or less!

​ABout our Method

Most dreadlock extensions are made by back-combing, and either tightly twisting, or crocheting the fibers in to each other, which can cause a rough texture, or itchiness against the skin and scalp. 

​

Ours have ZERO Back-combing at all, They are smooth, and squishy the entire way through. This technique is all about how the fibers are manipulated, to create the light, airy, movement they have. 

​

As the Dreads mature, they will form a slight cage around them which may change the texture slightly, but they will still remain soft and squishy for maximum comfort.

Following after care instructions is important for the over all outcome of your extensions. 

(However, the aftercare is so simple, it does not take much to care for them. )
